Edmonton City is home to three publicly funded school boards. The largest school district, Edmonton Public Schools, operates 195 schools. The Edmonton Catholic School District (ECSD), on the other hand, has 84 schools. The third school board is the North-Central Francophone School Authority, which is the school board of the Francophone minority community. As a major educational center of Canada, the city also has numerous post secondary institutions and campuses, as well as several private schools.
